To know me as an artist, I first must tell you about the person who inspired me to be an artist. My mother was the most influential person in my life. She lived a life filled with exploring, questioning, creating, learning, and teaching. She was an artist, a photographer, and an observer. She taught me the value of empathy, the beauty of nature, and the power of love and confidence in oneself. She passed away last year and photography is a passion I shared with her and it’s also the art that helped guide me through the most painful event in my life, losing her. Photography brought me a way to connect with her through reconnecting myself and sharing the beauty of our world. For me, photography goes beyond art, it was my salvation.
