To understand me as an artist, you first need to know the person who inspired me to become one—my mother. She was the most influential person in my life, living with a spirit of exploration, curiosity, creativity, learning, and teaching. An artist, a photographer, and an observer, she taught me empathy, a deep appreciation for nature, and the power of love and self-confidence. When she passed away in 2022, I turned to photography—a passion we shared—as a way to navigate the most painful loss of my life. Through the lens, I found both healing and connection, rediscovering myself while sharing the beauty of the world that she helped me see.
